Brake fluid is an important fluid that is highly overlooked. The fluid in nature is hygroscopic which means it attracts water which reduces its boiling point. That means during heavy braking the fluid has the potential to boil and create air bubbles in the sealed hydraulic system. This leads to a spongy and not so positive brake pedal feel. This water also causes corrosion to the internal components cause premature failure and costly repairs. We here at Woodward reccommend fluid to be replaced every 2-3 years as per industry standard.
